The Vision

The Het Nieuwe Bouwcentrum’s vision is to develop a dynamic architecture platform for the Netherlands that facilitates interdisciplinary dialogue, knowledge exchange, and innovation for an ecologically driven data society of the future.

HNB will connect architects, planners, academics, policymakers, industry professionals, and the public to spark transformative ideas and practical solutions that positively impact society. Through projects, workshops, seminars, and exhibitions, it will form an essential bridge connecting practice and theory and develop an open space for critical reflection and experimentation. With a focus on co-creating new knowledge for an ecologically and data-driven built environment, the initiative aims to expand its reach by establishing partnerships with both national and international institutions.

The Bouwcentrum's founding philosophy, which has its roots in the post-war era, can be encapsulated in just a few words: "The knowledge of many, processed by the few, for the benefit of all." This enduring, guiding principle is the foundation upon which the initiative will build a new, cooperative world of design and architecture.
